ART TAIPEI 2014 台北國際藝術博覽會 |10/31 - 11/3

Introduction

Art Taipei Forum is one of the few international art conferences that cover both business and academia in Taiwan. Joined with elites and industry representatives from both Taiwan and abroad, there will be a systematic introduction of Asian art and culture. Asian art boasts great uniqueness and heterogeneity as well as diverse perspectives and distinct discourses such as the cross-market discipline. It is our hope that this year’s Art Taipei Forum will serve as a communication platform that bridges Asia and the global art scene.

TAERCentre is a research body under the Taiwan Art Gallery Association (TAGA) with a mission to make visual art industry in Taiwan more innovative, which has been set becoming an international policy think-tank for economic and industry-related research as its goal. We engage in research with an emphasis on professional knowledge and innovative thinking in terms of serving a warming mechanism on economic and industrial policy issues, and providing constructive recommendations. Regarding the expansion and interaction of art industrial chain in Asia, we launched the first professional art economy forum - Asia Art Economy Forum in Taipei in 2006. Based on having had seven successive years of good harvest with more than hundreds of attendees annually including professionals, scholars, gallery owners, collectors and press worldwide, we are pleased to announce the 9th 2014 Art Taipei Forum (former Asia Art Economy Forum in Taipei) will be held for two days on October 31 and November 1, alone side with Art Taipei - an annual art fair held by Art Taipei Executive Committee. We hope it would be a great opportunity for our both institutions in bridging social and cultural divides in contemporary global society.
